Here we’ve gathered the questions we get asked most about how the subscription works. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, you can always contact the store directly.
If you’re signed in to the store, the checkout uses your account’s email and shows it as read-only — the subscription is always tied to that account, so it doesn’t end up split between two profiles. If you want to subscribe with a different email, click “Cerrar sesión” (sign out) in the checkout itself: it signs you out without leaving the page (you don’t lose what you’ve put together) and you can enter whichever email you want.
The first charge is processed at the moment you subscribe. When you complete the signup process and authorize the recurring debit through Mercado Pago, the first cycle’s payment runs immediately. From then on, the following charges are scheduled according to your plan’s frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.).
Charge dates are defined by the recurring cycle created when you subscribed, and they’re controlled by Mercado Pago. Moving them isn’t possible because Mercado Pago’s automatic debit system doesn’t allow modifying the date of a scheduled charge once the mandate is active. If the date doesn’t suit you, the available alternative is to pause the subscription and resume it when you want the charges to start again. Bear in mind that on resuming, the next cycle is scheduled according to the plan’s frequency from that moment.
If Mercado Pago can’t process the charge (insufficient funds, expired card or another reason), you’ll see a notice in your portal saying the last charge couldn’t be processed.Mercado Pago retries the charge on its own over the following days. You don’t have to do anything for it to retry, and the store can’t force a new attempt either.
  • If the problem is the card (expired, no credit limit, closed), change the payment method from that same notice: the following retries are made against the new card.
  • If the card is fine, check that it has available funds or credit limit.
  • If the problem persists, get in touch with the store.
If Mercado Pago’s retries run out, the mandate is cancelled and your subscription is left cancelled. No shipment is generated for a cycle that wasn’t charged. In that case you can reactivate it from the portal with a new card (see the next question).
It depends on how it was cancelled:
  • Cancelled due to failed charges: yes. In that subscription’s detail you’ll see the Reactivate subscription button. A new subscription is created with the same products and your same address, paying with a new card: the first charge is immediate (that becomes your new cycle date) and the price is the current list price, without the discounts the previous one had.
  • Cancelled by you or by the store: no. To come back, subscribe again from the product page.
Yes. In your subscription’s detail, in the Payment method section, click “Change” and enter the new card’s details. It’s available at all times — there’s no need to wait for a charge to fail.Changing the card doesn’t modify anything else: the price, the next charge date and your history stay exactly the same. The card details are processed directly with Mercado Pago and never pass through the store’s servers.
Generating a charge outside the scheduled cycle isn’t possible. Mercado Pago’s recurring debits can only be executed on the dates established by the mandate, and in several markets charging a stored card isn’t permitted either without the cardholder being present to authorize it at that moment. If you need to receive a one-off product before your next cycle, you can use add-ons: they’re charged immediately on confirmation and included in your plan’s next shipment. See the Add-ons section for more details.
It depends on the store: if it enabled the option, you’ll see the “Skip” button next to “Pause” in your portal. It skips one delivery without pausing or cancelling: the skipped cycle isn’t charged, everything else (price, products, card) stays the same, and the following delivery’s date may shift a few days — the portal updates it. While the skip is in progress, you can change your mind with “Cancel skip”. The step-by-step is in Manage your subscription. If the store didn’t enable skipping, the alternative is to pause the subscription before the charge date and resume it when you want to pick it back up. Bear in mind that on resuming, the next cycle is scheduled according to the plan’s frequency from that moment onward.
For now, changing an active plan’s frequency isn’t possible. This is a limitation of how Mercado Pago’s recurring debit system works: once the mandate is created with a given frequency, it can’t be modified on the fly.If you need a different frequency, the route is to cancel the current subscription and subscribe again choosing the plan with the frequency that suits you best. Check what options the store offers before cancelling.
Yes. You can have several active subscriptions at the same time, for example if you subscribed to different products or plans from the same store. Each one is listed separately in the portal with its own status, charge date and product detail.
If a product in your plan has no stock available when the order is generated, it’s the store that decides how to handle it. Depending on their configuration, they may hold the shipment, substitute another product or get in touch with you to sort it out.If this happens to you, the best thing is to contact the store directly to find out how they’re going to resolve your order.
You can cancel from the portal at any time:
  1. Go into “My Subscription” from your account.
  2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Click “Cancel subscription”.
  4. Choose a reason and confirm.
The cancellation is immediate. There are no notice periods or penalties, but bear in mind that it can’t be reversed: if you want to subscribe again, you’ll have to go through the signup process from scratch. If you only want to take a break, consider pausing instead of cancelling. The only possible restriction is a minimum delivery commitment: if your plan had one (it was shown when you subscribed), pausing and cancelling become available once you complete that number of charges. The portal shows you how many deliveries you’ve had.
Your plan has a minimum delivery commitment that you accepted when subscribing (it appeared on the product page, e.g. “Minimum commitment of 3 deliveries”). Until that number of charges is completed, the pause and cancel options are disabled and the portal shows you your progress. Once you complete the minimum, they become available on their own.If you have a genuine problem (moving house, financial situation), get in touch with the store: the merchant can always cancel the subscription manually.
Some plans have a defined duration (e.g. “Subscription for a maximum of 6 deliveries”). After the last charge, the subscription ends automatically: you aren’t charged again and you don’t have to do anything. In your portal you’ll see the notice “You’ve completed all the deliveries in your plan — you won’t be charged again”. If you want to keep receiving the product, subscribe again from the product page.
Yes, you can subscribe again whenever you want, as long as the store still has the plan available. You simply repeat the signup process from the store, choose the plan and authorize the new recurring debit. It’s a completely new subscription; the previous one’s history is kept in your account but isn’t connected to the new one.
Yes. Your card details never pass through the store’s servers or Reval’s. All payment processing is handled by Mercado Pago, which uses encryption and complies with international security standards (PCI DSS). Neither the store nor the portal stores or displays your card details; only Mercado Pago knows them.
If your subscription plan includes a discount off the products’ regular price (for example, 15% off for subscribing), the portal calculates and shows how much money you’ve saved in total since you started. It’s the sum of all the discounts applied in each cycle charged to date.
Accumulated savings are informational only — they’re not credit or a balance in your favor. But they’re a good way to see the real value you get from keeping the subscription active.
Reval is the platform that manages the subscriptions, but the one that administers your account, your orders and any specific problem is the store where you bought. Look for the contact button, chat or support email within the store’s own site.If you have a problem that seems technical (the portal doesn’t load, you can’t do something that should work), describing the problem to the store in as much detail as possible helps them resolve it faster.
